Meet Dan

Hi, I’m Dan and I started House Gardens with a small band of professionals who I knew and trusted. I didn’t want my business to be just another landscaping company, I wanted to focus on being a professional service people could rely on.

In my experience, people frequently moan about the level of service offered by tradespeople – from poor timekeeping to leaving a mess after a job is finished. I wanted House Gardens to be different.

That’s why I only employ reliable workers who have experience in every aspect of soft and hard landscaping. They treat your home like their own and will make sure everything is tidy before they leave for the day. We also use a licensed waste removal firm, which reduces our impact on the environment.

I also knew that I needed someone in the office, supporting the business while we were busy on-site. This means the phone is always answered and our appointments and emails are managed efficiently.

We are always trying to perfect what we do, as we strive to be regarded as the best landscaping company in the Hitchin area. If you see an amazing garden, we hope it is one delivered by House Gardens.

Our story

Founded by Hitchin local Dan Thompson, House Gardens has expanded to a 10-strong team of highly-skilled, professional landscapers. Over the years they have designed and built stylish outdoor spaces - from small, new-build plots to sprawling country gardens.

While the size and scope of each job vary greatly, the ethos behind House Gardens has always been to pay attention to detail, while offering customers a professional and personal approach.
